Making grilled asparagus in foil is incredibly easy... just a couple steps and you're on your way to a delicious side dish that everyone will love! The beauty of this recipe is its simplicity. Just a few ingredients keeps the flavors true to the asparagus, allowing you to use this as a side dish or cool and chop into a cold asparagus salad. Delicious!
Line some aluminum foil with parchment paper (see note in the post about this).
Break off the "woody ends" of the asparagus and lay on the parchment paper.
Add the avocado oil, balsamic vinegar, kosher salt and black pepper. Using tongs, mix around just a bit so the asparagus is coated.
Fold the aluminum foil into a square packet. Place on the hot grill for about 8 minutes.
Open the foil packet with tongs and remove the asparagus, placing them directly onto the grill.
Allow the tips to become lightly charred and remove from the grill.
Eat hot or allow to cool and add to a summertime asparagus salad!
Notes
Please be sure to line your aluminum foil with parchment paper! The acid from the balsamic vinegar (or lemon juice if you're using it) will react with the aluminum foil. If you don't have parchment, I would skip this recipe.
