Notes

Tips
  • Mostly all the onions work in guacamole. Sweet white onions are great to add for crunch and mild flavor. But you can use any that you have at the time of making.
  • Adding tomatoes is completely personal. You can add any variety of tomatoes, make sure they are firm enough.
  • Lime, cilantro, onion, and jalapenos are added to make crunchy and spicy guacamole. You can add jalapenos, serranos, or basically any chilies as per the taste.
  • Fresh lime juice adds flavor and freshness. Lemon juice and apple cider vinegar also work well if you want to make guacamole without lime. You can also add store-bought lime/lemon juice as well.
  • Due to this many people do not like to add them in salsa. Check these cilantro substitutes in guacamole or you can simply eliminate them from the recipe.
  • Instead of fresh jalapeno, try substituting them for pickled jalapeno.
  • If you like to substitute avocado in guacamole or are allergic to avocados then using edamame, hummus is the best option to go ahead in place of avocado.
