Step 1

Choose your asparagus. Choose asparagus with pencil size spears and light and bright green color.

Clean asparagus. Wash in clean water to avoid mud particles and shake it gently. Soak in water for 5 minutes if they are really dirty.

Step 3

Cut the asparagus. Find the line on the spear where the white and woody part starts. Snap it or cut it using a knife.

Step 4

Steam cook. Add the chopped asparagus spears in a microwave-safe bowl. Add 1 tsp water, cover the lid, and cook for 3-4 minutes.

Step 5

Season and serve. Once cooked, add garlic powder, kosher salt, olive oil, and lime juice. Serve and enjoy as a side dish!
