  • Healthy– This healthy watermelon strawberry raspberry salad is vegan, gluten-free, & vegetarian. I made it macro-friendly as well. Fruits are good to consume all throughout the year. Ingredients & notes

watermelon, strawberry, raspberry, cherries and mint lime dressing to make the salad.
  • Watermelon– This is the star ingredients of this summer fruit salad. I am using seedless watermelon. Be sure to pick a nice one and here are few tips on how to pick your watermelon from stores.
    • Look for the yellow spot on the surface of the watermelon. This is the field spot, which means the place where it was resting on the ground. The darker yellow it will be, the sweeter the watermelon is. Do not pick if this spot is on the white side, that means it is under-ripe melon.
    • The second is to tap it multiple times. It should sound firm and knuckles will bounce back. This is a very old age tip but very useful.
    • Pick the heaviest watermelon of its size. That means it is very juicy from the inside.
  • Fresh berries– Since I was very impressed with the original recipe so kept the same color theme. Used only red color berries and made this raspberry, strawberry, watermelon mint salad. But other berries like blueberry, blackberry, and elderberry are also good to use.
  • Mint lime dressing– I always loved mint in feta watermelon salad, and using the same logic with this salad made a lot of difference. Maple syrup, lemon juice, fresh mint leaves created an amazing dressing and made this salad magical. Instead of maple syrup, you can also use agave, honey, and any other artificial sweetener.

Variations & Substitutions

  • You can add many other fruit combinations with watermelon. Blueberry, blackberry, kiwi, cantaloupe, grapes, dragon fruit, pineapple are other fruits that go well with this watermelon berry herb salad.
  • Other than mint leaves, basil, cilantro, and flat-leaf parsley are other herbs to use.
  • If you still like to enjoy traditional Mediterranean watermelon feta salad, feel free to add feta. I prefer goat cheese or vegan feta to add.
  • Vegetables like tomato, cucumber, and red onion are few options that go well with melon.
